In the local Oromic language Tebe Burka means “fertile land.” The private washing station model (buying cherries from smallholder farmers who deliver cherries) is common in Ethiopia, especially in Southern areas like Guji, Sidamo, and Yirgacheffe. But the Edema family stands out for their quality, and have been in the coffee processing business for over 30 years around Guji and Shakiso zones. Their #1 placement for shed coffee at the 2019 AFCA Taste of Harvest is a testament to the quality that comes out of the Tebe Burka Washing Station.
